The Pipes, Drums & Dancers of the Newport News Police
Recent News:

After only four years of existence, we were named the honored bagpipe band for Police Week 2008. This is an unprecedented historical event for the Tidewater and Greater Peninsula region. The band has been asked by the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies to be a member and to return for Police Week 2009.

The band has been invited to participate in Garda Memorial Services in Dublin and Belfast in May 2009.

The band has also been invited to participate in the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Societies 25th Anniversary during National Police Week, May 13 - 16, 2010.

In August 2003, a dream was born. That dream was to bring a police pipe and drum band to the city of Newport News and to the Greater Peninsula region. We also wanted to serve our Brother and Sisters in the first responder community. Our motto is still , "To Honor the Fallen."

The band under the piping and drumming tutelage of PM Brendan Konouck and David Grebos has grown into a competition level band that is easy to recognize when performing.

The band is also one of the few bands in the United States to have a dedicated dance section. The Dance Section is headed up by award winner and dance veteran Lynnette Fitch Brash.
